Re: So much for the warm Atlantic Current

I had a thin blanket of snow around 10pm Monday, around an inch of it settled on the car and fields but the roads and pavements were pretty clear by morning so no effect on anything here, but it is pretty darn cold for sure! The Met Office have issued a "yellow warning" for heavy snow this...

Re: For the first time ever, AMD outsells Intel in the datacenter space

I did install this when I first got my ryzen laptop and it just sat there as I prefer not to overclock anything, at the time I was considering under-volting it to give better battery life and reduce thermal throttling although I never did actually change anything, my concern at the time was voiding ...

Re: For the first time ever, AMD outsells Intel in the datacenter space

I tend not to buy latest models of laptops/desktops and so usually have the benefit of being able to check online for user donated benchmarks and the like, I find them to be more reliable than the manufacturers ones as they are run in real world scenarios rather than laboratory tests, (tlmiller sign...

Re: Bambu Studio

I took a quick look at it and although it does appear to offer more functionality than Cura my workflow is set and I have no issues which makes me wary to try anything else (if it aint broke, don't fix it!) I have seen a few YT reviews of bamboo labs printers and they do seem to be very good machine...

Re: PCLinuxOS

I did try it in the past although I don't recall using trinity with it, I think from memory it might have been xfce I tried, there have been a couple of discussions about it on here, https://dai-trying.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2181 https://dai-trying.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1676 My experience was...

Re: Wireless networking on Trinity

I'm yet to try KDE again, but I guess I will have to try it sometime soon although I am heavily invested in XFCE to the point that any other desktop would probably be a PITA to get how I would want it. I really don't like bells and whistles which would compel me to remove/turn off many of KDE's &quo...

Re: Wireless networking on Trinity

Sorry, I guessed that the root account had not been enabled (default in Debian if password for root is not set) and it just needed to be set to enable it, and also guessed that administration password was just giving sudo access, my bad

Re: Wireless networking on Trinity

To set the root password you could make yourself root (sudo would work) and then change your password using passwd command, and this should enable the root password to work with the wifi, which I think should solve that.

And if it doesn't work straight away you might need to reboot.

Re: Is anyone doing anything special for the manifest v2 complete block?

I have been using brave for quite some time now, mainly because it blocks more adverts by default than any other browser I have used, also I can block individual elements in web pages which can reduce clutter on some sites. I do find it better for my usage although I usually have firefox-esr install...

Re: KDE Neon has been rebased on Ubuntu 24.04

What seems to be the failure? is it pulling in unwanted software or crashing?
