SELinux has never caused me any problems. I always thought it was good. DOD approved security, so why would you want to turn it off.

Yeah, doubly when putting it in permissive mode allows everything, and you get logs so that you can troubleshoot any issues it IS causing. I'll admit probably 80% of the issues I have when commissioning new servers is SELinux, but I still like it on servers.
