Python and Bash - contenders for the most used scripting language

While bash is technically available now on Windows 10 (via ubuntu shell for windows), I'd be willing to bet that Python is the most used. Very good cross-platform compatibility, easy to understand and write, yet can still be very powerful.

I can honestly say Ive never used either so have no practical experience versus possible popularity.

I've had to learn to at least be able to read some python at work. I don't know how to write, but I can understand it to a degree.
