I keep the latest gparted iso on our Nutanix at work. Every time I need to extend partitions I use it...I SUCK at extending partitions through CLI!! Although at home I mostly use partitionmanager, the actual using them is very nearly identical, as they're both gui's for the same thing, just partitionmanger was re-written to be qt instead of gtk.

I like Partitionmanager but I also like GUI as i dont do it enough on CLI and screw it up all the time.

Yeah, I completely destroyed a server at work trying to do it in cli. Now, it was as server I was just BUILDING and hadn't been put into production yet which is why I tried it through cli, since I had nothing to lose. But taught me just to use the gparted iso...

I use to use Partition Magic all the time in Windows so Partition Manager felt comfortable.

I think other than the menus and colors being different, Gparted and Partitionmanager look pretty much the same.

At either rate, this made my life a whole lot easier. Someone tried to download the firmware on a small Sandisk USB. They downloaded a music file...!! Not much good that was..! LoL,,! So, I got what was needed loaded onto the drive. Then there was a specific way to do the upgrade. I found the tutorial on it,or I probably wouldn't have got it working at all.

Sounds like the upgrade is a lot like my cars stereo.

Back in the day, they had many computer tech shows on tv talking about how to do things. Today its Youtube videos and I used one the other night to walk me through a laptop take a part for repairs that went very well.
