Turned out the Dell e4310 lapatops had issues with their wifi cards and I replaced them. Now they auto connect with no issues at all. Presently all my systems auto connect.

Did you replace them like for like or did you upgrade?

They were using the Intel Centrino N6300 but replaced it with the Intel dual band AC 3160. Could be a driver issue?

Could be, I know those older cards haven't really been overly tested in newer releases, so if there were regressions I dare say it might take a while before it was caught. But upgrading from a N (even it is a 3x3 N) to a AC card (even if it is a 1x1 AC) will most likely prove to be a good upgrade. While MAX theoretical bandwidth is actually lower, the improvements in AC 2.4 over N2.4 should mean your realistic range goes up and real world usage bandwidth will probably go up a tiny as well.

The N cards given my top speed with Comcast is 240mbps ran around 200mbps but the AC cards run around 230mbps. This is the first time Ive had issues with these cards as Intel typically isnt an issue. MX and Peppermint didnt see the N cards at all but after replacing them both distros see them with no issues. Q4OS and Neon saw the older N cards and they worked fine.

So was just reading Norberts page. There will be no 5.26 for stable. 5.26 has a hard dependency on a version of libDRM that's only updated in Bookworm/SID, so packaging it for stable will simply fail every time.

Never really worked with his stuff as I rely on Neon mainly to test KDE versions. Honestly I like the older versions like 5.20.5 .

I like the changes they've made with the 5.23+ series. So going back before 5.23 isn't pleasant for me. However, I can easily go back to there and be happy. For my still stable Debian machine I've actually downgraded to 5.24.x (from Norbert) as it's the LTS KDE release and is still getting security updates. While it's unfortunate 5.26 can't be brought out, I'm not missing out on anything important. Given how Norbert packages the plasma updates, it was far easier than I expected to downgrade from 5.25.5 to 5.24.7.

Im more worried they will screw it up down the road, as has happened in the past.
