I just had a quick look through brave extensions and can't see anything specific to yt-dlp, which extension do you use?

Does this mean you cannot install youtubedl-gui?

youtubedl-gui (the apt package) doesn't use a web browser afaics, it is a standalone package that you enter the yt video address into and it gives you the option to download audio/video/both, and has its own menu item in the multimedia category. I just tested youtubedl-gui again on a random video and everything is still working properly here, version 3.0-2

Have you checked in brave browser settings to see if you have any extensions installed? Brave -> Settings -> Extensions -> Manage this should show any extensions installed. Otherwise I'm not sure how you are downloading yt content through your browser.

There are many extensions available, from Brave -> Settings -> Extensions -> Get more extensions type youtube download into the search bar and many will appear, it might be a good idea to also do a quick online search for brave extensions for downloading youtube videos which could give you some guidance for what you could expect from any particular extension.

I found one on Foxfire. Youtube Download Helper. Works fine, but you have to install another package via Linux Terminal. It works, that's all that matters.
