Ok for you its a lousy choice but for me and many others its a fast and easy way to install Debian 10 with a few nice extra features.

Yes, but I can only speak for my own point of view. So, therefore, garbage.

The thing is that people will see a post like that and carry that to other forums and readers rather than taking it with a grain of salt. I want to be fair to other distros even when we really dislike what theyve done.

I look at useless as useless. If you're doing something that has no value, then I call them out on it. Not adding anything of ACTUAL benefit is useless as far as I'm concerned. So if something is useless I AM being fair. You've released something that adds complexity without adding value. The very definition of useless to me. That IS my fair assessment of things like q4os KDE...useless.

And yet it works just fine on my work computer and offers a very stable and fast distro for everyday use. Its certainly not useless but yes if youre a Debian purist youre certainly not going to be happy using it. There are many distros that dont offer anything particularly unique yet it may be a dedicated version of a distro with a different DE. Just so those of you who read this thread realize that those of us who use Q4OS KDE really enjoy using it.
For a different point of view check out the forums over at www.q4os.org

If you prefer Debian straight up use it and enjoy it but the point is to get people to use Linux.

Never said it doesn't work fine, never said there aren't people who will enjoy it. Just giving my opinion of things, same as you. Your opinion is that it's a great way to get a quick install. My opinion is that it's utter garbage.

Personally I don't use the plasma version of Q4OS, I think it might lead to other issues as you will still have some trinity artifacts as well as the modern KDE version, probably only a matter of time before they conflict, and as Debian has it's own KDE LiveCd I see no added value to using that version of Q4OS.
With that said though I find myself using pure Debian mostly now, I only have a couple of boxes and a Pi with Q4OS running on them.

There havent been any issues with the Q4OS KDE version and honestly I doubt there ever will be but whatever suits your needs. I run 8 KDE distros right now and Q4OS runs just as well as the others. Well before Q4OS had a KDE version many Debian purists wouldnt use any Debian based distro, like MXLinux or Netrunner for instance so I realize many prefer to just use Debian. Just realize other people dont feel that way and they may see negative comments as dissing them for their choices, even though you say its your personal choice.
This isnt the only forum that has Q4OS discussions like this one and it definitely ends up being a my way or the highway type of situation unfortunately.

My two favorite KDE distros are Feren OS, essentially Mint KDE and KDE Neon because it remains light and up to date, both Ubuntu based distros,so thats a discussion for another thread.

Sorry about being off topic, lets get back to discussing the new version of KDE.
