I've actually never used ANY of these. HEARD of most of them, but never used them. I simply don't keep enough info on my drives to bother backing up. All my config files are backed up on my external HDD, my NAS, AND in my github (via Sparkleshare). Everything else (mp3's, videos, movies, pics, Windows reinstallers) are backed up on my external HD and NAS, so no need for real backups.

Timeshift is included with most of the Ubuntu based distros. I dont use them anymore for the same reasons as you.
