I read the Vivaldi's desktop email client was out of beta and generally available for download. I had not heard of it, before I read this. It sound like its feature set is like Thunderbird, Evolution, Kontact and Outlook(?). You get email, rss, calendar, contacts.

It's part of the browser.

I realized that after I posted the comment, sorry. The article just mentioned a full blown email client, and when I went to the Vivaldi site, I saw that Mail had its own page and just jumped to the conclusion that it was a stand alone app. Guess not, is it any good? I had tried to set up the Vivaldi calendar a few weeks back, and I could not get it to work with NextCloud. Maybe I should check on an update and see if it is working again.

Honestly, not THAT bad. It autodetected my cox email settings, it supports IMAP, and has a lot of options overall. It's able to display html email (obviously), and can send rich text (but not html). If one's needs are moderately simple (IMAP & POP3 only), one could definitely get by with using this. The only thing I really dislike about it is that the initial view is "unread messages" for ALL mailboxes. To see the mailboxes seperately you have to scroll down quite a ways.

I have found 1 issue that makes it utterly unusable to me...every time I shut down Vivaldi, it forgets the password to the emails!!!
