XFCE is my overall favorite but I still use KDE 5 and the Redmond interface(Windows clone) with Ubuntu Mate.
Re: Whats your favorite DE?
Plasma 5 by KDE. However, if I need to be light on resources, Trinity desktop.

Re: Whats your favorite DE?
Im always torn between XFCE and KDE as I run a lot of KDE distros, like PCLinuxOS and Mageia. Started out as a KDE user but went thru a lot of DE's since then.
Re: Whats your favorite DE?
I find that most DE's I don't like. Cinnamon & LXQT are the only 2 other DE's that I can even tolerate installing and using beyind plasma 5 and Trinity.

Cinnamon I hate, LXQT is ok but I still prefer LXDE. I like Mate if I can configure it more, otherwise Im neutral about it. I like TDE but its got a long way to go and Ill come back to it later.
Re: Whats your favorite DE?
XFCE and MATE. But XFCE is better. TDE has some bugs and rough edges which I really don't like.

Agree Rademes as I was mainly a XFCE/Mate guy till KDE 5 got their act together. I like TDE but its still too rough around the edges.

Ok, Im beginning to like Cinnamon even though its Gnome 3 but after installing Mint 18.3 the changes and features I actually like and the performance has improved. Memory usage though has gone up drastically from 18.1 at 380mbs to 560mbs with 18.3(thats with htop). If you use the system monitor, 18.1 was 488mbs and 18.3 785mbs at GUI.

Loving Cinnamon after using it awhile, as it offers a very good experience for Windows crossover users.
TDE I still like and I use the KDE classic look which is easy to get use to as its a clone of KDE 3.5.
