Windows 7 bits and pieces

Post by chris »

As Microsoft have removed and/or significantly altered some of the well-regarded, since '95, bits and pieces, https://win7games.com/ have released/reissued some of them as they were in Win 7 days. Games, Calculator, Notepad, Wordpad, Sticky Notes, Task Manager.

Thanks for the link. My only Windows install is Windows 11 and I miss MSPaint, Solitaire and Wordpad. For me they were the three killer apps that came with Windows. On Linux I still always install a MSPaint clone. The old Solitaire was a delightful time waster, time killer. Wordpad was very much like textedit from NextStep and was so useful. It worked in RichText so I could write a decent letter to mail out and also did fine for creating plain text files.

So I guess with the apps from your link, I can install Windows apps and perhaps get some use out of Windows, besides just filling up an empty hard drive.

Solitaire and casual games is available on Win11 and when you search for it, it will auto update to the latest version. Wordpad is also available in Win11 in a slightly newer form. MS Paint is available as well as Ive got all these apps on my Win11 install.
