Its already in repos depending on what distro youre using. Ive got it installed with Ubuntu Mate 18.04.

If you have anything with sid repos you can install it from sid. I'm waiting for it to get down to stable or backports, I simply don't use it enough to need the latest and greatest.

Thats why I always have certain distros installed as some like PCLOS and the Ubuntu based distros get the newer apps a lot sooner.

I have just started playing with Gimp 2.10 and already a few of the minor issues I had before have been corrected.

I can wait for the stable version....I don't use it that much either....
