Compiz

Does anyone use/like Compiz...? It works really well on MX-17. I really liked Linux Cylon, cause it used Compiz. It just sucked as a distro.. :x

I haven't used compiz since I used KDE 3.5. :D

Honestly, I didn't even know it was still around.

Yes...they just revamped and re-did it,so it has many functions, and MX-17 is one of the distros it works well on. I was using it last night,...Window bounce and wobble, along with the flames, are really cool "Window Bling"... :D

I thought Compiz was dead as their forums had no posts past 2011 and there havent been any posts on their site since 2012. www.compiz.org.

Perhaps they are "dead"...but on YouTube MX-17 has several videos talking about how well that it's been tweaked for Linux MX.
I saw another video talking about Compiz on Budgie and Solus.... but didn't watch them. In fact the developer of MX-17 has a video on how to install Compiz from the repos.

Yeah, just looked and the latest version (at least according to their page) is 0.9.13.0, which was released July 1, 2016. So 2.5 years ago.

I did find there's a fork called compiz reloaded that's being more actively maintained, although still somewhat slow looking. https://github.com/compiz-reloaded https://gitlab.com/compiz
