Thunderbird not working with Comcast email

All the settings look spot on but I can access the emails over at Comcast, but Thunderbird cant seem to connect to get them. Ill wait and see a bit,

Its not Thunderbird its XFCE/Cinnamon 19 Mint and from what Ive seen it affects other ubuntu based distros. Im typing on Rosa R10 an Thunderbird is working fine, no issues with Comcast email.

Tested Linux Lite 4.2 and it also wont connect to Comcast. Debian and RPM based distros seem to be fine so far.

Neptune works fine so there is evidently a problem with Ubuntu based distros and in my case the IMAP server at Comcast. Emails at Comcast are fine.

Definitely a Ubuntu issue as Neon and Kubuntu both dont work, MX17 is fine.

Maybe canonical is throttling Comcast to get their customers angry the same way Comcast is throttling traffic exactly like they said they wouldn't?

This is the first issue Ive seen like this in quite some time. Just out of curiosity, are you having issues connecting to Cox with Neon?

Spotted a thread in the Ubuntu forums and quite a few people are having the same issue.

Looks like going back to MX17 might be a better option.

I haven't had any issues with any of the accounts I use (Fastmail, Gmail, Cox) with Neon as of yet.

Ok so its just Comcast it appears, I wonder why and just with Ubuntu distros.

Ok heres your fix for the problem. Rename the server imap.comcast.net to imap.ge.xfinity.com and it works fine. Evidently this is the name Canonical uses for it but why this became a problem, not really sure.
