I've only used audacity and have always found it to be great. so no need for me to try anything else.

Audacity is excellent and i recommend it to everyone. My wife loves it and its easy to use for most users. I like to try other software to see if anything is better or recommend it for specific needs.

I've used the same 2 as CC, and vastly prefer audacity, although honestly RARELY do any audio editing. I dare say it's been 2 or 3 YEARS since I've needed to do so.

I'm quite similar as it seems every time I need to use it I have to install it as it's quite likely I have reinstalled my OS since the last time.

My wife does audio editing all the time and I tend to follow her recommendations.

As long as Audacity works when I need it, I probably won't. Unless I see a review of one that looks REALLY cool. That's how I've found most of the software I like.
