13 open source back up solutions
Re: 13 open source back up solutions
I've been considering installing Timeshift on MX-18...any input would be appreciated...
Re: 13 open source back up solutions
I've only ever used back in time so can't help much there.

How do you like it...?
Re: 13 open source back up solutions
I like it. Took me a bit to figure out the gui, but it's always worked just fine for me. I don't currently use it as the only real thing I keep backed up are configuration files, which I use the sparkleshare to do that to the cloud. I don't have a need for TRUE backups anymore

Timeshift is the default on Mint Mate for backup and seems to work great based on reports but I havent tried it myself.

I downloaded Timeshift from synaptic last night. I just have to set it up and configure it. I'll let you know what I find. Thanks...!

Re: 13 open source back up solutions
I use a simple bash script solution for my backups, although I never back up the OS as it is so quick and easy to install, and I find it less prone to perpetual errors that way. simple cp and rsync are all I use.
