Be aware new drivers and kernels could cause issues

The new kernels released to help the Meltdown/Spectre issues, may have issues with some newly released graphics drivers, particularly Nvidia, causing system issues and in some case crashes.
If youre using older video cards dont bother and stick to the driver you have or use the Nouveau drivers instead. Newer cards Id stay away from the most recent driver release for now till this gets worked out.
Its not happening to everybody and interestingly it varies depending on the kernel version and distro involved.
The new graphics drivers also have patches in them to protect from Meltdown/Spectre as well as some other fixes so its a bit complicated right now.
